How does a wall go from bare studs to paint ready?
Hanging is the fast part and finishing is where the quality lives. We start by hanging the sheetrock tight to the framing, with joints planned so seams land where they are easiest to hide. Then comes taping and mudding: every joint gets taped, coated, and feathered out so the seam disappears into the wall instead of telegraphing through the paint later.
After the mud cures we sand the surface flat and check it under light, because a seam that looks fine in shadow can show up the moment the room is painted. The wall leaves our hands ready for whatever finish the project calls for, whether that is sprayed texture or smooth paint.
What affects the cost of a drywall job?
The big factors are square footage, ceiling height, and how much finishing the surface needs. A straightforward addition with standard eight foot walls is a different job than a two story new build with vaulted ceilings, and a wall headed for a smooth finish takes more coats and more sanding than one getting sprayed texture.
